Aircraft

New Flyers Association is primarily focused on flight training, but as a perk members may also rent them for their own needs!

Members should review the membership agreement for specific rules for aircraft rental. We love to see our planes fly, but we do ask members to consider other members and students as well.

N566FD (Sunshine)

Flight Design CTLS

Joining the fleet in April 2010, N566FD was given the name "Sunshine" by her owner. A new design of aircraft called "Light Sport", it was initially thought that the small 100hp engine and it's tiny size would be an underwhelming aircraft when compared to the tried and true Cessnas and Pipers.

She's proved the opposite. Her carbon-fiber and kevlar design results in a weight being a fraction of traditional aircraft design, and also has a very modern and incredibly streamlined build, leading to incredible speeds for something in such a tiny little, albeit adorable, package. 100hp is all this spunky little airplane needs to really impress!

Sunshine's "Little Sister", Sunbeam joined the fleet in February 2013 to help her older sister. Both proving to be extremely popular, their speed and responsiveness are quite impressive!

Being born just a few months after Sunshine, Sunbeam certainly has many of the same qualities that define her older sister, while still being unique in her own little quirky ways!

Piper Cherokee Warrior 151 w/ engine upgrade

A classic in aviation, the Cherokee Warrior is a line of aircraft build by Piper Aircraft. The Cherokee 151 normally carries a 150 horsepower engine, but NFA has upgraded ours to a 160 horsepower engine! It proves itself to be a sturdy and capable 4 seat workhorse. Our Cherokee Warrior is instrument certified, meaning it can be flown under Instrument Meteorological Conditions, aka poor weather.
